A native Californian, Rick Cline is the son of a World War II navy veteran. Following high school graduation he continued his education at Fullerton College and opened an auto parts business at age 21. His next move was a career in professional photography and photojournalism. Working from his Anaheim (Ca.) based studio, Rick's work in various motor-sports such as drag boat and powerboat racing appeared around the world in hundreds of magazines, newspapers and tabloids including; "the National Enquirer," the "Los Angeles Times," with "UPI" (United Press International), the "Orange County Register," "The Press-Enterprise" and countless others. He has earned several awards for outstanding achievements in photography and journalism. While working in the motor-sports field, he become deeply involved in event promotion and marketing. A former magazine editor and a long-time enthusiast of World War II history, Rick has written three books on World War II, and in 1995 founded R. A. Cline Publishing (AllNavyBooks.com). To date his Riverside based book publishing company has produced 6 titles including three of his own. One of his top clients in the book business is the United States Navy. Still active in professional and commercial photography (RickClinePhotography.com) as well as the naval book publishing business he enjoys many activities. Some of his favorites are motorcycles, fast boats, bicycles, photography and classic cars.

Raised around water and fast boats, Rick was water-skiing at the tender age of 8 and surfing at 13. A skilled skier at 34, he won a speed ski race in central California. Two of his most memorable lifetime experiences include a thrilling flight aboard a B-25 World War II twin-engined bomber and a deep sea voyage (courtesy the U.S. Navy) inside the American Nuclear Fast-Attack Submarine, USS Helena (SSN-725).

A motorcycle rider from age 15, Rick owns and rides two different motorcycles. Founder, owner and host of this site, Rick first launched SoCalBikeNite on the Internet in July 2004. Since then, traffic and name recognition has grown rapidly. While the size and content is still changing, SoCalBikeNite has already become known as the premier website for southern California Bike Nights.
